This privacy policy (the “ PRIVACY POLICY ”) applies to your use of the website of Spectra hosted at biotworld.in, the Services (as defined under the Spectra “Terms of Use”), Biot Device and Biot App on mobile platforms (Android, iOS) (collectively (“ BIOT” or “WEBSITE”), but does not apply to any third party websites that may be linked to them.

By accessing or using BIOT, you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to our collection, storage, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.

What information do we collect?

For a better experience, while using BIOT, we may require you to provide us with certain information, including but not limited to:

  • Personal Data

Personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, date of birth, mobile number, and photograph.

  • Derivative Data

The information our servers automatically collect when you access Biot’s mobile application, and when you interact with the application’s services, and other users via server log files.

  • Financial Data

Information related to your registered or preferred payment method (e.g., valid credit card number, card brand and type, expiration date) that we may process when you make purchases on our website or in-app. Please note that we do not store any financial information that you enter. We only record the transaction ID and related details as a reference in future. All your bank or credit card details will be saved by the payment gateway.

  • Geo-location Information

We may request access or permission to and track location-based information as well as time zone from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using the application, to provide location-based services. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.

  • Mobile Device Access

We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device’s bluetooth, calendar, camera, contacts, microphone, reminders, sensors, SMS messages, social media accounts, storage, and other features. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.

  • Mobile Device Data

Device information such as your mobile device ID number, model, manufacturer, version of your operating system, phone number, country, location, and any other data you choose to provide.

  • Push Notifications

We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or the application. If you wish to opt-out of receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.

  • Biometric credentials

Biometric information like fingerprint and/or face templates are captured & stored in encrypted format, when you opt to enroll on Biot.

 

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites/apps that you visit and are stored on your device\\\’s internal memory.

Biot does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third-party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of the app.

We may engage trusted third-party service providers to perform necessary functions and provide services to us like hosting, maintaining servers, database storage and management, credit card/payment processing, and email management to help us operate Biot efficiently and manage any purchases through our platform. In such cases, your personal and non-personal information may be shared with these third parties.

We may share portions of our log file data, including IP addresses, for analytics purposes with third parties such as web analytics partners. If your IP address is shared, it may be used to estimate a general location and other technographics such as connection speed, whether you have used the app in a shared location, and the type of device used to operate the app.

We may also disclose personal and non-personal information about you to the government or law enforcement officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate in order to respond to claims, legal processes, to protect our rights and interests or those of a third party, the safety of the public or any person, to prevent or stop any illegal, unethical, or legally actionable activity, or to otherwise comply with applicable court orders, laws, rules, and regulations.

We will collect the personal information that you submit to us on Biot.

 

Is the information collected through Biot secure?

We value your trust in us and thus, we take the utmost precautions to safeguard your information. We have physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to help protect, prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use your information. However, no application, Internet, or email transmission is ever fully secure or error-free, and any information disclosed online is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorized parties. Therefore, we do not guarantee complete security of any personal information.

Further, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

Children’s Privacy

By using this Biot Services, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.

In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at admin@biotworld.in so that we can take the necessary actions.

Consent

When you provide us with personal information, it implies that you consent to our collecting and using it for Biot use only.

Your information will be shared with another business entity (or part of our business/assets), we may plan to merge with, or be acquired by another business entity or in cases of organization restructuring or amalgamation. In case of such a transaction or re-organization the new business entity will follow this Privacy Policy. All the affected users will be notified before personal information is transferred or becomes subject to different entities’ privacy policy.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it periodically. These changes will be effective immediately on the Users of Biot. Please note that at all times you are responsible for updating your personal information, including providing us with your most current e-mail address.

If you do not wish to permit changes in our use of your personal information, you must notify us promptly that you wish to deactivate your account with us. Continued use of Biot after any change/ amendment to this Privacy Policy shall indicate your acknowledgement of such changes and agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions of such changes.
